It’s in the Eye of the Beholder

Once someone finds out that I am a professional photographer, they often ask me to look at their photos. Then, I get the standard question, “What you do think?”

What’s important to ask is not what “I” think, but what theĀ general public thinks about the photo. As photographers, we tend to shoot what is interesting to “US”, but sometimes we forget what other people think about it. I could take an interesting photo of some thunderclouds out in my neighborhood, butĀ other people would say.

“Who cares?”

The truth of the matter is, what’s important is that other people like what and how we shoot versus what we think of our own work.

Just my two cents. And besides, this is MY blog! ;-)
